In the mid-100s, Tatian the Syrian assembled the Diatessaron—the gospels of Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John arranged in a single narrative. In 1933, Reformed theologian Loraine Boettner created his own diatessaron—a gospel harmony that can be used with benefit as a Bible study aid.
